Gainesville’s Electrician.
Twelve years in.
Running 352 Electric has never been about building a franchise or chasing the next big contract. It started in 2014 with one licensed electrician who believed that Gainesville deserved an electrical contractor who treated every job like it mattered — because it does.
Fifteen years learning
the trade. Then his name
on the truck.
Before Don Russell ever filed the paperwork for 352 Electric, he spent fifteen years learning the trade from two of the most formative employers in North Central Florida’s construction industry.
The first was All Florida Electric, where Don spent five years and completed his apprenticeship through Santa Fe College. AFE wasn’t just the largest electrical contractor in Gainesville at the time — they were a model of what a successful, deeply local trade business looked like. Three decades of community roots, and they gave back by actively building the Santa Fe College apprenticeship program that trained the next generation of electricians. Don took that philosophy with him.
The second was W.W. Gay Fire Protection, where Don spent nearly a decade as a superintendent. It taught him something entirely different: how to take a specialized, niche service and build an entire business model around it. Running his own crews, managing projects from start to finish, developing the leadership skills that would later define 352 Electric — all of it came from those years.
In 2014, 352 Electric opened for business in Gainesville.
What 352 Electric has become
Twelve years later, 352 Electric is a licensed team of electricians serving homeowners, general contractors, developers, property managers, and businesses across Gainesville and a 50-mile radius of North Central Florida.
“What I’m most proud of isn’t the number of jobs we’ve done. It’s the reputation we’ve built and the team that backs it up. We have customers who have been calling us for over a decade. Customers who request specific electricians on my team by name because they trust them. That’s everything.”

We got a call from a retired couple in an older Alachua County home — the kind of place that had been added onto and patched by different hands over fifty years. The wiring was a mix of knob-and-tube, aluminum, and whatever the previous owners had figured out on their own. It was a fire waiting to happen, and the homeowners had no idea how serious it was.
We spent three days doing a complete rewire — bringing the whole house up to current code. When we flipped the breakers on for the last time, the husband shook my hand and said he finally felt safe in his own home. That’s the exact reason I do this.
One of the few
in Gainesville.
Not many electricians in North Central Florida can say they’re certified by Tesla to install EV charging equipment. Don is.
It happened because of a friend — a general contractor who had just bought a Tesla and recognized that home EV charging was going to be the next major wave. Tesla’s certification requires an Electrical Contractor (EC) license, which ruled out his GC friend but made Don a natural fit. After going through Tesla’s vetting process, 352 Electric became one of the few certified installers in the Gainesville area.

Family, and
25 years on the mats.
Ask Don what he does when he’s not running a job site and he’ll give you two answers: family and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
He’s been training and teaching BJJ locally for 25 years. “Being on the mats that long teaches you discipline, patience, and how to think through problems methodically — all things that translate directly to running a business.” But when the day is done, his favorite role is being a dad and spending time with his family in the same community where he works.
We rely on doing
the job right.
“When you hire a national franchise, you’re often dealing with technicians pushed to meet sales quotas and upsell things you don’t need. When you hire 352 Electric, you’re hiring Gainesville locals. We’ve been here since 2014. Our kids go to the same schools as our customers. We shop at the same stores.”
“That accountability is built into everything we do. We don’t rely on a million-dollar ad budget. We rely on doing the job right so you’ll recommend us to your neighbor.”
All current.
All verifiable.
We’ll show you the paperwork on request — license, insurance, and certifications.
